Analyzing the Problem

Coil and Glide are image loading libraries for Android: they load remote and local images into ImageView and AsyncImage, cache decoded bitmaps in memory and encoded bytes on disk, downsample at decode time to the target view's dimensions, cancel in-flight requests when the target is recycled or detached, dedupe concurrent requests for the same image at the same size, apply composable transformations, decode animated GIF and WebP frames on demand, and release cached memory under OS pressure.
